Influence of Surface Waviness of Journal and Bearing Bush on the Static Characteristics of Hydrodynamic Bearing

An investigation on the surface waviness of both journal and bearing bush their impact static characteristics hydrodynamic is presented in this paper. The finite difference method introduced to solve a Reynolds equation obtain unknown pressure field. characteristics, including load carrying capacity, attitude angle, end leakage flow rate frictional coefficient are studied under different parameters. numerically simulated results indicate that may deteriorate or enhance system, depending phase angle. causes periodic changes behavior, owing alteration profile surfaces near angle determines performance system.
